Find Internet Access Numbers

These days, the buzz is all about high speed Internet. People are obsessed with having the quickest Internet service that they can, and are often willing to pay as much as 60 dollars a month for it. For a long time, I liked to use high speed Internet too. I loved to surf the web, and it was worth the extra money that I had to spend to get premium Internet service.

Nowadays, however, I do not have the same need for speed. I use dial up Internet access numbers instead of my sbc dsl Internet. This would seem strange to a lot of people. Many of my friends have not used a dial up Internet access number since the 90s. For some of them, it has been even longer. I'm asked all the time why I would use Internet access numbers instead of plugging into a dedicated connection. The answer is really quite simple.

You see, nowadays I use Internet for so few things. Really, the only thing that I do on the Internet is to check my e-mail. A lot of people think that faster is always better, but for such applications as e-mail it does not matter. Unless you are downloading files from the Internet, viewing web pages, or listening to music online, you do not need a high-speed Internet connection. Internet access numbers do just fine for me.

In fact, using Internet access numbers is actually more convenient for me than using a high-speed connection. The great thing about dial-up access numbers is that I can use them from anywhere. I travel around a lot, you see, and often stay in remote rural locations.

These areas are not served by WiFi Internet, so it is hard for me to find a connection. The more remote a place is, however, the more likely it is to have dial up Internet access numbers. If you are in the middle of a crowded urban environment, everyone uses either WiFi, DSL, or broadband Internet. Way out in the boonies, these services tend not to be wired up yet. That is why Internet access numbers can come in handy.

If you use the Internet for anything besides checking your e-mail and you have the luxury of doing so, you should definitely switch away from Internet access numbers. When I used to spend my time in less remote places, I could always find an Internet café with free WiFi. It didn't make sense to pay for dial-up access when there was a better service available.
