Internet Phone Service

I believe that the telephone companies may be powerful now, but their days are numbered. Internet phone services are the new revolution. When I first heard about Internet phone service, I was skeptical. You see, I have been a gamer for more than a decade. I remember when games used to let you talk over the Internet. To say that the communication was slow and chunky is an understatement. It was awful.

Part of me never believed that Internet phone service would get beyond that level, but it has. Nowadays, it does not seem like there is any reason for the normal phone lines to exist anymore. If they still do have a purpose, they certainly are on their way out.

After all, Internet phone service costs much less. You can get Internet telephone service with all of the features – including unlimited long distance calling and call forwarding – for just 30 dollars a month. This is less than many basic phone plans.

I think the thing that has kept Internet phone service from taking off is the fact that people are hesitant to try new forms of communication. Everyone has taken the telephone for granted for decades. People just assume that this is the best way to talk to other people.

The idea of Internet phone service instantly makes people wary. They are suspicious of voice over IP or (VOIP as it is known) because they think that it will be too difficult and technical for them to deal with. Everyone assumes that learning to do something over the Internet that you have never done before is going to be difficult.

They are worried that the computer might crash and leave them without phone service. In short, no one wants to be the first person on the block to get Internet phone service.

One of the great things about a lot of the Internet phone services, however, is that they protect you from such problems as crashes. The Internet phone service that I am using will automatically forward your calls to your cell phone if your Internet telephone goes down.

Best of all, you can use your Internet telephone service from anywhere. With a normal phone, if you leave the house you are out of touch. With an Internet telephone, however, you can plug it into any Internet connection. You can then make unlimited long distance calls if you want to, all for the same standard monthly rate. Internet phone service really just makes a lot more sense than normal telephones.
